Electrician Job Responsibilities

  • ​Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical panels, smart panels, circuit breakers, surge protectors, lighting systems, ceiling fans, outlets, switches, electrical fixtures, and home safety equipment.

  • Inspect and install electrical components and devices, including transformers, breakers, EV chargers, and automation systems.

  • Read and interpret technical electrical blueprints and diagrams to determine the location of wires, ducts, pipes, and other equipment.

  • Perform general maintenance with a focus on safety and quality while resolving minor issues.

  • Use test equipment, experience, and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems. Find the cause of the problem and correct it.

  • Repair, maintain, and replace equipment following state, and local regulations, and the National Electrical Code.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot circuit breakers to prevent overloads and failures.

  • Test electrical systems and circuits using devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to check wiring, equipment, or fixtures.

  • Apply knowledge of HVAC systems to enhance customer comfort and safety.

  • Complete all required documentation for repairs and other services.

  • Ensure timely completion of all installations and repairs.

  • Must have a valid driver license, work permit, and a clean driving record.
